Sweet Breath
So, awhile ago I started writing an episode of Supernatural, and when I say awhile ago, I mean like, YEARS!
It's incomplete, but maybe the story awards will motivate my to keep writing?
Everyone I've showed it too has told me they love it and wish it'd actually happen in the show... Unfortunately, that's no longer possible since about half the characters died on me, of course when it come's to Supernatural that doesn't always stick!
Anyway, here's the Intro:

- Spoiler:
- Know When to Run – Know When to Fight
Know When to Hide – Be Safe for the Night
Nicole Simmons sits at her desk typing furiously at her laptop, a look of absolute concentration fixed onto her face. She nibbles lightly on her bottom lip as she works. She pauses and a look of slight confusion graces her features. She starts typing again, slower this time, more carefully.
The lights flicker for a moment, distracting her temporarily before she turns back to her work.
Suddenly her breath catches in her throat and the typing comes to a stop. She brings her hand to her mouth in disbelief. Frantically she saves it to her USB, and then she pulls it from her computer and runs from the room.
A few moments later she rushes out the front door. She zips up her leather jacket with one hand and holds a helmet in the other. She stumbles slightly as she rushes to open the door to the small garage.
She walks over to something in the corner. She makes quick work of the protective tarp to reveal a 1967 Shovelhead. She wheels it out onto the drive way and then goes back. She closes the garage door, turns around and nearly runs into a young man who looks to be maybe a year or two older.
“WOAH!” he cries falling back a bit and throwing up his hands dramatically. “In a bit of a hurry, are we Nikki?” he asks, quirking his eyebrows.
“Billy, hey” she says, greeting him half-heartedly. “Now isn’t really a good time” she continues, glancing around the empty street “I gotta go!”
Nicole turns towards her bike and tries to walk around him but he moves with her, blocking her way.
“Oh sure,” he replies when their eyes meet “Just give me the memory stick and you can be on your way” he holds out his hand expectantly.
Nicole stares at Billy’s hand, knowing that something’s very, very wrong. She looks her friend in the face just in time to see his eyes, sclera’s and all, turn black!
“No...” she murmurs taking a step back. Billy tilts his head and, with a blink, his eyes return to their natural colour of green.
“You don’t really get a say in the matter” he retorts. He grabs her and slams her against the fence, making her drop her helmet. He presses himself roughly against her and he begins to search her. He lets his free hand run carelessly over every inch of her body, down her arms, around her waist, cupping her breasts, and finally coming to a rest of her bum. Only then does Nicole start to squirm. Forcing her harder against the fence and tightening his grip holding her arms behind her back, he slips his fingers into the back pocket and pulls out the memory stick.
“Got it!” he declares triumphantly, freeing his captive.
Nicole turns around but Billy, and the thing inside him, is gone. A small smirk seeps onto her face as she reaches her hand up to her pendant. It looks like a heart shaped locket, but as she pushes down on the shackle, a USB plug slides out. Her smile widens and the plug slides back into its hiding place. She scoops down and picks up her helmet. Then she hops on her bike, puts on the helmet and takes off down the street.

Next part:
- Spoiler:
- “Hold still, will ya?” Dean says to his brother, trying to treat the small cut that lay over Sam’s elbow.
“Dean, I hit my humerus pretty hard, I’m just trying to get the feeling back into my fingers” Sam snaps back, continuing to move and flex his fingers.
Dean couldn’t help but laugh, it had been years since something as innocent as this had happened; an injury, completely and one hundred percent un-supernatural related. Sam didn’t seem to find it quite as funny, of course.
“You got lucky, Sammy. Any deeper would of needed stitches” giving his brothers shoulder a quick squeeze, Dean walks to the other side of the room and resumes his position of reading the newspaper on his bed.
“I’ll tell ya, it’s not getting any easier to choose cases” he says after a moment, clearly annoyed.
“Why? Watcha got?” Sam asks. “Omens,” replies Dean, turning the page, “mostly potential demon possessions. Like this one…” he shifts so that his back is leaning against the head board. “There was this little 13 year old girl who put her newborn baby sister in the bath with a toaster. Now she claims that the last thing she remembers was getting separated from her parents at a fair the day before.”
“How far away is it?” Dean quickly scans the article. “Not too far. Half a days drive, maybe” he closes the newspaper and lays it to the side, then he stretches out his whole body on the bed with a big yawn.
“I think you might need a good nights sleep first. We can leave in the morning" says Sam firmly.
Both the boys look up when they hear the sharp rapping on the door. Dean groans loudly and gets up, walks over to the door and opens it. Immediately and without a word, Castiel walks in.
“Sam, Dean” he stops in the middle of the room and turns to face them. “I hope I am not interrupting in the middle of a hunt”
“Good timing, Cass. We just finished last night” Sam says, closing his laptop. Dean walks back over to his bed and makes himself comfortable again “I take it you’ve got something for us?” he asks with a smile, putting his hands behind his head.
“Yes. A young woman needs to be found. Her name is Nicole and she has something that the demons want very badly, though we’re not sure what it is” Castiel pauses waiting for a response.
“We?” asks Sam. Cass sighs “Many of the angels, myself included, have heard her prayers, but none of us have been able to find her” he says, an annoyed expression on his face.
“How is that possible?” Sam begins, “Unless…” he glances at Dean, who he can tell shares his thoughts. “No” Cass interrupts “No angel has branded her ribs”
“Then how?” Dean asks, furrowing his brow. “It shouldn’t be possible…” Cass replies, shrugging his shoulders “But that doesn’t matter, what matters is that we find her before the demons do”
“Ok” Dean says, reluctantly getting up and starts packing.

[Happy moment!] And then...
It's written in the true style of the show... so, some scenes are a lot shorter than others!
So, I'll just cram the short ones with another scene!
- Spoiler:
- Several hours later, Sam and Dean are in the Impala driving on an empty road. Sam glances at his brother asleep in the seat next to him.
They had told Castiel to wait for them at Bobby’s and tell him what’s going on. Cass had insisted that they leave that night, so Sam had told Dean to let him drive so that he could get some sleep.
When they found a decent hotel and got to their room Dean stayed true to his word and immediately called Cass to tell them where they were. He then took the beer being offered to him by Sam and sat down.
“So, where are we gonna start?” Sam asks watching him take a sip. It was a decent question. How do find someone if all you have is a first name?
“I suppose we could always…” he pauses briefly stumped “…we could check missing persons?”
“Seems like a good a place as any” Sam agrees. He rolls his beer between his hands, not actually drinking it.
***
The door closes loudly and Dean settles back into the driver’s seat. He quickly straightens out the papers in his hands before handing them to Sam.
“Only Nicole that’s reportedly gone missing. So either this is her, or no ones filed a report yet” he crosses his arms and leans his head back.
“Looks really young” comments Sam before flipping over the page. This makes Dean smirk, he reaches over and flips the page back over, saying: “She’s older than she looks” Sam’s eyes skim the page for a moment before finding the age section and his jaw practically drops.
“She’s 25?”
“Looks like a teenager, doesn’t she” Sam just sits and stares at the page, temporarily stunned. Once he gets over his shock he continues to scan the pages.
“Lets see. Mum committed suicide. Dad’s location unknown. Ah, she has a brother, should probably start with him”

Re: Sweet Breath
- Spoiler:
- Riley runs his hand through his hair, seemingly trying to stay calm. He presses the green button in one last attempt and lifts the phone to his ear.
“Hi, you’ve reached Nicole” comes the cheerful voicemail “Well not really, but that’s why ya gotta leave a message and I’ll get back to you, promise” he shakes his head and snaps his phone shut. He stays still and silent for a moment.
“Dammit” he says, slamming it on the bed. He hears a car pull up out front, he rushes through the house and pulls open the door.
There he finds two men standing on the porch. One of them has short, dark, spiky brown hair, green eyes, and slight stubble. The other one’s slightly taller with shaggy, shoulder length brown hair, and had once hand, fisted and risen to shoulder lever, just about to knock. Both wearing suits.
“Hi?” they’re obviously surprised, but quickly recover.
“Hi. I’m Agent Johnson, this is Agent Bonham, we’d like to talk to you about you’re sisters disappearance”
“My sister is fine. I spoke to her, like – ten minutes ago”
The taller one, Johnson, quickly consults some papers. “Really? Coz I have a missing persons here, filed by Billy Millard. Can you explain why he wouldn’t have checked with you before filing missing persons” he asks while his partner, Bonham, tries to casually peer around.
“Until ten minutes ago I thought she’d gone missing as well. But she called, it was a long story, and she’s on her way home now” the Agents glance at each other.
“So are we done here?”
***
After explaining Riley’s strange behaviour, Dean wasn’t surprised to see that typical, far away, puzzled expression on Castiel’s face.
“No, that can’t be right” he says, refocusing. “I heard her again, Dean. She’s outnumbered, she’s desperate, and she needs our help”
“I know, but there wasn’t a lot we could do”
“Yeah” Sam adds “I mean, it’s not like we could just say an angel can hear her crying for help”
“Why not? It would be truthful” this causes Dean to have the same look on his face that he’d had when explaining the ‘natural order’ of a whorehouse.
“Dude, we’ve been though this!” he says, laughing slightly. “We don’t just tell people about this stuff. We like to avoid making people think we’re crazy”
“I suppose it would be preferable” Dean just rolls his eyes.
“So I saw something just inside the doorway, a pentagram drawn on a little whiteboard in the corner”
Castiel narrows his eye, seemingly deep in thought. “An idea has just occurred to me” and, with that, he disappears.

Re: Sweet Breath
- Spoiler:
- Not too much time passes before Castiel returns. He explains that perhaps if he were able to find one of the demons who were after Nicole, they would be able to get some info out of him that could help them find her, and he had the same one that first attacked her locked away.
Dean sighs. “We’re taking Angel Express, aren’t we?” Castiel’s face remains expressionless, but his eyes make him look almost like he’s smiling.
Castiel took them to a place that was both familiar and also very unwelcoming – the same place Cass and Uriel brought Dean to ‘interrogate’ Alistair.
“I put him in here” Cass says as he walks across the room and stops in front of the door to look through the window. Sam and Dean join him and look over the angels shoulder, surprised when they recognise him.
“That’s the guy who filed the missing persons” Sam states with understandable surprise.
“Kinda makes sense” Dean comments, squeezing through to the door and pulling it open. “Shall we get it over with?”
“I know what you thinking, Dean. It shouldn’t take much to get him to talk, and if it does I’ll handle it” Dean sighs and nods, he glances at his feet and motions for them to go through the door.
Sam walks through first, then Cass. Dean takes a deep breathe, let’s it out slowly, and then follows.
The fact that Billy was locked up in the exact same way Alistair had been doesn’t help Dean in forgetting the horrible memory.
He looks up as the three of them stop in front of him.
“Three against one, really? That’s fair!” he says to Cass after analysing Sam and Dean. He has a constant self-pitying air about him.
“You’re a demon, fair doesn’t apply to you” a bitter smile hovers on his face and a sharp, huff of a laugh escapes his lips. “That’s fair” he repeats.
“All you have to do is tell us where she is” Dean tells him simply.
“And then what?” he asks angrily “What? You – you’ll let me go? What’s my upside here, man?”
“We’ll if you tell us – We’ll kill you” Sam says.
“Awesome!”
“And if you don’t – We’ll send you back to hell and let them deal with you” Billy’s face actually visibly pales.
“I don’t know where she is” he says slowly, through gritted teeth. “Why do you think I was snooping around her house? I have a deadline and if I don’t find her in time I’ll be looking forward to a world of pain”
Dean walks over to the door. “Group huddle” he says and he walks out the door. Cass looks at Sam with slight uncertainty before they both follow Dean out of the room.
“Dean, what are you doing?” asks Sam as he closes the door behind him.
“Look, I’ve had a thought here” he says, hands raised in defence. “Imagine – for a second – that we all believe him” he pauses while Sam predicably rolls his eyes. “We could waste hours of valuable time questioning him, throwing holy water at him, or salt”
“Ok, so what do you suggest we do?” Sam asks, crossing his arms.
“We send him back to hell”
“What? Are you actually joking? Dean, he’s our only lead” Sam rants. Dean just shakes his head eyes wide. “No… No… Not necessarily!” he says.
“What do you mean, Dean” Castiel asks calmly. Quickly, Dean makes himself clear.
“That black-eyed douche happens to be possessing a close friend of this Nicole, maybe he know something the demon doesn’t”

Re: Sweet Breath
- Spoiler:
- The demon looks up when he hears the door open again and watches as the Winchester Brothers and their angel walk back into the room.
“You know, it’s a form of bullying to purposefully exclude someone. Who says I didn’t want to be part of the huddle?” he smirks.
“How about we send you somewhere where you’ll never be left out?” Dean asks. He turns to Sam and signals him to start.
“Exorcizamus te, omnis immundus spiritus, omnis satanica potestas, omnis incursio infernalis adversarii, omnis legio, omnis congregatio et secta diabolica”
When Sam finishes the demon is expelled with a howl of pain. Cass walks over and quickly checks Billy’s vitals.
“He’s alive” he says. He grabs a bucket of holy water and throws it at him.
“AHHH!” he screams, suddenly gasping for air. “COLD! Oh my God, COLD!” he tries to shake the water out of his eyes.
“My apologies, Billy” Cass says while untying him. “We needed you awake now, we don’t have time to waste”
“What? Who are you people?”
“Look, we only need one thing, you listening Billy?”
“How do you guys know my name?” he asks, backing into the corner. It was clear he was freaking out and, honestly, who could blame him?
“We’re trying to help your friend, Nicole” Sam all but shouts at him. Immediately he put his arm to his side and quietens down. “You know Nikki?”
“Well, we’ve never met face-to-face but we do need to find her”
“Do you know of anywhere she might go if she feels like she’s in danger?” Billy thinks this over briefly.
“Um, she was left a house, tiny little thing a couple miles away, she spends a lot of her time there”
After getting some rough directions from Billy, Castiel presses his fingers to his forehead making him disappear.
“He’ll have no memory of his possession – or of us”
He tells them, once more, that he has to go, that, when they find her, to take Nicole to Bobby’s house, and to call him when they get there.

Re: Sweet Breath
- Spoiler:
- It doesn’t take them very long at all to find the house, and it was a strange looking one. As old as the house itself was, it looked like there had been some garden renovation. There was a large water feature surrounding the entire house, and literally. They had to essentially walk through the water to get to the porch.
Sam gives a few sharp raps on the door, almost not expecting a response.
“That’s not the secret knock” comes the instant reply. Sam glances back at Dean to see an identical blank expression as he shrugs.
The wooden door opens, leaving the fly screen locked and secure. Nicole come into view and immediately her eyes go straight to the hems of their pants, taking in their wetness and seeming satisfied. She unlocks the remaining door and walks back deeper into the house. The brothers glance briefly at each other before following her, hesitantly inside.
The inside, they note with surprise, is not unlike the outside. Everything around them looks old, but there’s also some very modern stuff all over. The old book self was half filled with DVDs and books and CDs, pictures hung up on the walls, a laptop at the kitchen bench along with a half empty can of Dr Pepper and a pack of Stride Gum.
“How’d you boys find me?” she asks as she plonks herself down in front of her computer and starts typing away. Just as they’re about to respond, the lights start to flicker.
“Dean, I think we may have been followed” Sam says with a major bitch-face. Dean just curses inwardly and turns to Nicole.
“Look” he says to her “We’re here to help you but we have to leave now!” as he finishes his sentence the light become solid again.
“Too late” comes an eerie voice.
Sam and Dean are flung to the wall as a young girl walks in. The poor thing couldn’t be more than eight. She turns to Nicole and holds out her hand.
“Hand it over please” she says in a tone that’s so polite that the only thing about her that shows it’s a threat is her eyes: jet black.
“NEVER!” she screams, and then she bloody well kicks the little girl down, injuring her ankle in the process.
Sam and Dean don’t hesitate, a single nod to each other and they’re off. Dean runs straight from the room, hand wrapped around the keys in his pocket while Sam hurry’s to help up Nicole. She stubbornly brushes him off and runs limply after Dean who by now had reached the Impala.
He holds the back door open expecting Sam to help her in, but, again, she just brushes him off and does it by herself. Sam hops in while Dean runs to the other side of the car and jumps into the driver’s seat and without delay hits the gas.
“Let me see your foot” Sam says to Nicole twisting in his seat.
“This is a nice car” says Nicole, carefully lifting her foot into the front seat for Sam to inspect. “It’s a ‘67 Chevy Impala, right?”
They glance at each other, surprised. “Yeah” Dean replies simply.
“I have a ’67 Shovelhead, myself” she says watching Sam careful test her ankle. “Motorbike, back at the house, I’ll have to go back for it sometime”
Nicole flinches slightly when Sam applies pressure.
“Feels dislocated” he tells her, letting her gently pull it back and onto the seat.
“So, who exactly are you boys?” she asks after about a seconds silence. “Well, I’m Sam and this is my brother Dean” Nicole frowns slightly at this but it seems to go unnoticed.

Re: Sweet Breath
Sorry, long one:
- Spoiler:
- It’s less than ten minutes until they pulled into Singers Salvage Yard, the boys get out first and Sam holds the door open, obviously intent on helping Nicole walk.
Brushing them off, once again, Nicole gets out of the car and limps in front of Sam and Dean up to the house.
A few seconds after they knock on the door, Bobby opens it and a wide smile spreads across Nicole’s face. “Uncle Bert?”
Sam and Dean glance at her in confusion, then back at Bobby, shocked when the find surprised recognition there. “Nikki?”
“Oh my God” she says, laughing in disbelief.
“I don’t know what I find more shocking” Dean says as they make their way through the house. “The fact that you know each other, that she called you Bert, or that she called you ‘Uncle’ Bert”
“Well, we aren’t actually related, but I knew her Dad” he says as if it explains every little thing.
“Knew him? Please! You were practically brothers”
“Really, Bobby? Brothers?” Dean faces Bobby, obviously waiting for a better explanation.
“Nicole, why don’t you make yourself comfy in the living room? Give that foot of yours a rest?” asks Bobby after a second, he pulls the freezer door open, pulls out an icepack and hold it out to her.
She momentarily considers refusing, but realizes that it would be better for everyone if she just complies for once, so she grabs the pack and limps off into the other room.
When she’s clearly settled down, Bobby turns back to the boys in front of him.
“Don’t give that look, boy. Mark and I, we grew up together” he spat fiercely. “When Karen died, he was the one who taught my all the basics, showed me what was really out there. Hell, half the books here belonged to him” he thinks for a moment. “Pretty sure he wrote one of them, actually”
“Wait. Her Dad’s a hunter?” Sam asks in surprise. “So is she”
The Brothers are absolutely blown away by this little piece of information. They simultaneously lean sideways, looking around Bobby and at the apparent hunter sitting on the couch as she breathes deeply before pushing her ankle back into place with a small whimper. Then they ease back into their previous stance.
“Her file said her Dad was missing?” Sam asks, already suspecting the answer.
“Look. We were on a job, he died. After that his wife, Irene, killed herself. Nikki and her brother, they’ve been on their own since their early teens”
Unable to think of anything relevant to say Sam brings up the first thing that comes to mind. “Dean, you should probably think about calling Cass”
Dean swiftly fishes his phone out of one of his pocket and makes the call. “Cass, we’ve get her”
“Good”
Suddenly Castiel is in the room, he closes his phone and slips it back into his trench coat.
“Where is she?” he asks with a quick glance around the room. Dean slips his phone into his pocket. “In the next room” says Dean.
Cass turns away and walks through to the living room, Sam, Dean and Bobby trailing behind.
When she hears the footsteps, Nicole looks up and her eyes immediately focus on Castiel. “Hello” he says in a sure voice.
Nicole smiles, stands up and takes a step forward, ignoring the pain that shoots up from her ankle. “Well, hello yourself”
“Nikki, this-” Bobby starts but Nicole holds up one of her hands, instantly silencing him.
“I already know who this is” she says simply. Bobby and the Winchester boys seem fairly shocked by this. Cass just narrows his eyes and tilts his head, curious and intrigued.
“Mussed up black hair” she starts walking around him “Deep blue eyes” she stops after one full circle “And to complete the package – a trench coat.” her smile widens considerably “You’re Castiel, the angel”
“How do you know this” Nicole’s smile slowly fades as she tries to phrase her answer in her mind. “Let’s just say – I’m an enthusiast”
When everyone seems more confused than satisfied with this answer, Nicole sighs in resignation and sits back down.
“Well, considering my families profession – out of curiosity – I’ve read the ‘Supernatural’ novels” she doesn’t look up, but she can practically hear the exasperation pouring out of Dean. “Chuck’s books? Of course!”
“But I thought Chuck’s last book ended with Dean going to hell, Cass isn’t even in them” Sam says thoughtfully.
“Chuck’s last PUPLISHED book ended with Dean going to hell” Nicole adds, emphasizing on the extra word. “The last book he actually wrote was ‘Swan Song’ where Sam-slash-Lucifer and Adam-slash-Michael fell into the pit”
“So pretty much – you’re a fan?” Dean concludes.
Nicole lifts her head and her eyes – narrowed in a death glare – connect with Deans. “No” she says simply “I hate the term ‘fan’. Always have, always will. It automatically paints a negative picture – a stereotype of stupid swooning girls” she pauses briefly before adding “Like that Becky chick”
Her eyes instantly fix on Sam who shivers inside. He nods, fully understanding where she’s coming from, and can’t help but compare the two in his mind. Where Becky had always seemed to be the kept-your-Kleenex-obsessive-stalker type, Nicole seems, if anything, like just any other normal hunter, in fact, if she hadn’t said anything, he probably never would have guessed that she even knew the books existed.
“Ok” says Dean, quickly trying to break the silence. “There’s something nagging at me here” he pauses briefly to rub roughly at the back of his neck.
“You’re a hunter?” Nicole smiles. It doesn’t really sound like a question, more like fact checking.
“Yes” she says slowly, as if to a little kid.
“And you ran because you knew demons were after you?”
“Safe to assume when a friend of twenty years viciously assaults you, coping a feel in the process” she watches slightly amused as Dean arches his eyebrows.
“Ok, this is my real question. Why were there no signs in that house? No devil traps, no salt, nothing. Why?”
The smile Nicole wore slowly spread and she shifts playfully closer.
“What about the holy water?” she asks, quirking her eyebrows. Sam and Dean exchange a quick quizzical glance, clearly having absolutely no idea what she was talking about.
“The water you walked through was holy water!” she exclaims. “Ohhh” they say in unison.
When it catches the light, Castiel’s eyes are drawn to the pendant that hung around Nicole’s neck. He quickly steps forward and wraps his fingers around it, bringing it into slightly better light.
“Cass?”
“Where did you get this?” he asks his voice just above a growl.
“Cass?” he turns his head to look at Dean who simply stares back with a questioning look.
“This is the reason no angel could find her” he states, letting it drop back into place. “It’s coated in Enochian magic”
Sam steps forward with a frown in place. “May I?” he asks politely.
Nicole’s fingers entwine with the chain, hiding the pendant from sight. “It stays with me at all times” she whispers.
“I won’t remove it” he assures her “Promise” he adds when she hesitates. Nodding, she lets her hand slide back down to her other resting on the pack on her ankle.
Carefully, Sam takes the locket into his hands, tilting it and peering at it. He turns it over one way than the other, examining it thoroughly before pressing down on the shackle, and the USB slides out.
“Nicole, what do you have on this?”
“Um, I can honestly say – a recipe” she replies with obviously false confidence, but its clear there was more to it than that.
“A recipe for what?” Dean asks, crossing his arms. Nicole’s eyebrows knit together and she bits down on her bottom lip.
“The Qeres” she says, as though she could be sentenced to death. Neither Sam nor Dean knows what this is and when they look at Bobby they can tell he doesn’t either. Finally they look to Castiel. With hands as rigid fists, eyes wide and lips a thin line, it was clear this wasn’t the first he’d heard of it.
“The Qeres? The hell is that?” Dean asks looking to Cass but the angel looks as though he could very well be on pause, then he blinks.
“The Qeres is an ancient perfume created in Egypt” he shifts slightly and turns to Dean. “It was used during the mummification process, I believe”
“So, it’s a preservation perfume? What’s the big deal about that?”
“The ‘big deal’ is the fact that this is the only man made substance in existence, fatal to angels!” he looks back down at Nicole, completely ignoring Sam and Dean’s reaction. “But when heaven heard of it the angels were sent to wipe it out and destroy the recipe. I don’t understand how you could have recovered it”
“I didn’t, not really. When my parents died my brother and I inherited everything, I got all of my Dad’s hunting stuff, including books with info, instructions – recipes on how to kill a lot of different things” she holds her necklace in one hand while she talks. “Including angels?”
“I was as surprised as you, believe me” smiling Nicole continues “I mean, sure, we all know what some angels have done, that there is reason enough to want to kill them. How my dad knew – I’ll never figure out”
“So, what happens now?” Dean asks after a moment, he looks at Castiel at just the same moment that Cass looks at him.
“It is imperative that we keep the demons from her and that is what we will do” he replies with fortitude. “The demons have gone to great efforts to keep this from reaching heaven, not many will even know about it” this catches Nicole’s attention and raises a question. “Then how did you know about it?”
Castiel turns to her and quickly replies “I heard your prayers” before turning back and addressing Bobby and the boys. “It shouldn’t be difficult to track them down and dispose of them”
Nicole can’t help but shiver at that. It’s not that she herself hasn’t ‘disposed’ of plenty of things throughout the years, but simply the way the angel says it... She just knows it will be a struggle to keep her ‘enthusiast’ side in check, but she embraces the challenge wholeheartedly.
“Until then I think it’d be best if she stays here” Nicole looks at Bobby, torn between gratitude and indignity. Accepting that they have reason enough to want her to lay low, she decides to let go of the latter.
“Really? You don’t mind?” she asks. Bobby smiles affectionately down at her and places a large hand on her shoulder.
“Of course not!” she narrows her eyes as a thought occurred to her. “I don’t have to sleep in the panic room, do I?” Bobby freezes entirely and it’s painfully clear that that was exactly what he’d been thinking.
“Guessing that’s something you wont stand for?” he asks, almost rhetorically. The smile that spreads across Nicole’s face is answer enough. “You know me”

Re: Sweet Breath
- Spoiler:
- After some time trying to convince Nicole to stay in the panic room, during which Castiel excused his self to find more leads, they finally caved and Nicole was allowed to stay in the guest room.
Sighing, she lies down on the bed, it wasn’t the most cosy bed in the world but she’d bet anything she owned – USB locket included – that it is more comfortable than the little cot she would have been stuck sleeping in if she’d agreed to staying in the panic room.
She slipped her hand into her pocket and pulled out her phone. Until then she had totally forgotten the Riley would surely be looking for her by now, and the first place he would look would be their safe house.
Turning on her phone, she saw that she had several missed calls, all from her brother. She hit the ‘call’ button, crossed her fingers subconsciously, and it took all of 5 seconds for him to answer.
“Nicole, I’ve been trying to reach you all day!” his voice was full of irritation and resentment, and made her feel culpable.
“I know, I’m sorry, but you’ll never guess what happened”
“Hmmm, demons found you?” there’s a small pause and Nicole smiles. “Ok… You’ll never guess all of what happened” she reiterated.
She took her time to explain everything that had happened – finding the qeres among her inheritance, Billy’s assault, fleeing, being found by Sam and Dean, the kid demon, dislocating her ankle, getting away in the Impala and being taken to Bobby’s house for safety.
“And guess what? It was Uncle Bert!” she laughs silently at the image of Riley’s surprised look to counterpart the silence that now stretches between them over the phone. “But now most people seem to call him Bobby” in her mind Riley’s eyebrows shot up, and when he spoke it was obvious she hit a bullseye.
“Bobby? I can’t imagine anyone calling him Bobby”
“Yeah. Well, from the look on Dean’s face – he couldn’t imagine anyone calling him Bert” she continued to explain meeting Castiel and the discussion-slash-argument that followed.
“So, where are you?” she asks after looking at her watch and realizing that they’d been talking for forty minutes.
“I went to Necronomicon, of course” he replies, as though it was obvious, which it kind of was. Necronomicon was what they call their safe house, after the Sigil of the Gateway – they thought it was appropriate.
“Are there any signs of demons there?” there was some quiet rustling from him shaking his head. “No, none”
Nicole checks her watch again – eight-forty – and breathes in deep.
“Stay there. I’ll come to you”

Re: Sweet Breath
- Spoiler:
- When Nicole crept downstairs she could see Sam, Dean and Bobby in the kitchen talking. She couldn’t hear what they were saying and she didn’t really care, they looked kind of intense which meant only more time for her. They were in the way of the door, so she went back upstairs and climbed out through the window.
***
She didn’t really think about time, but after ten minutes of relaxed strolling she realized the walk would take a while and broke into a gentle jog, which sort of turned into more of a sprint.
In the end she made good time – thirty minutes – before she was back at the house, and she was less than impressed to find Riley waiting for her by her bike.
She smiles widely before running to him and hugging him, she could feel the relief wash over him and felt her own annoyance subside.
Pulling away she jokingly scolds him.
“What the matter with you? Huh? Sitting out here in the open?” she swats playfully at his shoulder.
“Oh that’s rich!” he replies, his smile the only giveaway in his sternness. “Hey, how’d you convince Bert to let you come get me?”
Nicole purses her lips, looking away and down, trying to be obvious and over dramatic.
“Seriously, Nikki?” he asks shaking his head. “Come on, then. Who knows when he’ll notice you’re gone” he hands her, her jacket.
“Ya get my laptop?” she asks, putting on her jacket. He nods.
“My dagger?” she asks, getting on her bike. He nods.
“My gum?” she asks, putting on her helmet. He smiles and nods.
“Alright then” she kick-starts her bike and jerks her head back, Riley nods one more time and dashes to his car to follow behind her.
***
“How the hell did you pull this off, Cass?” Dean asks, staring at the angel in question in plain disbelief.
“It’s as simple as knowing precisely what to look for and following” he replies in a tone that’s just a little too superior for Deans liking.
“Yeah, sure it is” he huffs, breaking the stare that had begun between them.
They all turn when the sound of an engine reaches their ears. Glancing quickly among themselves, they make their way outside and into the salvage yard, where they find Nicole taking off her helmet and a car pulling up behind her.
“Nice wheels” Dean calls over, smirking at the busted look that instantly replaces her smile.

Re: Sweet Breath
- Spoiler:
- “How could you possibly be so reckless? Demons are out to kill you and you decide to walk back to where the last attack was? We’re trying to protect you, dammit?” surprisingly enough this wasn’t even half as bad as Nicole had expected, Dean and Bobby both seemed to be too amused by the whole situation to be anything close to irritated, Castiel just stood in the corner, arms crossed and brow furrowed, Sam was providing a thorough tongue-lashing, and Nicole was struggling tooth and nail not the smile.
Riley was standing next to Cass, leaning against the wall, legs crossed and hands in his pocket. He addresses Bobby “Long time, good to see ya Bert”
“It has been a while” Bobby agrees bobbing his head. Riley then wanders to the middle of the room and sits beside his sis.
“I’m assuming that’s Dean?” he points while looking at Nicole who smiles and nods. “That’s Sam?” another nod. “So Mr. Poker Face over there must be Castiel” Nicole chuckles, but her soft almost giggle is easily drowned by Dean’s loud burst of laughter.
“Nice one”
Sam’s eye’s widen and he shakes his head in disbelieve, causing the previously hard urge to laugh impossible.
“I’m sorry, Sam. But anyone who knows me knows I’m like this. Ask Bert, I highly doubt he was surprised at all” Sam and Dean glance questioningly at Bobby who smiles, fondly reminiscing. “When she was six she talked Riley into playing hide-n-seek with me… without telling me, of course”
“As counterproductive as Nicole’s recklessness was, I doubt it was more so than this conversation” Cass says suddenly, he walks forward, places his hand on the back of the couch and leans in slightly. “In case you forget, I’ve already pinned down the location of not only half a dozen demons but of a demon that may very well know the rest” Nicole twists around in her seat to look up at the angel.
“Really?” she asks, her surprise evident with her face and voice. She turns back around with an impressed pout. “That was fast!”
She gets to her feet, the sudden movement causing the room to shift slightly in response. Dean’s eyebrows shoot up when Nicole bends herself backward to an acute angle, affectively cracking most of the bones in her spine. When she straightens out she then twists her to the left then to the right to crack the ones she had missed.
“Shall we go kill some demons?”
Honestly, she wasn’t really all that surprised when they left her behind with Bobby and Riley.
***
The first house they hit had four demons inside, slightly unbalanced but went relatively smoothly. With a quick blur of manoeuvres they were able to leave behind a small pile of bodies and move on.
The second was really more of a large shed with a duo of demons. One went down with very little hassle but the second was the taunting type, the words “Nice move, leaving her with the old man” being his last before Dean got him.
“It could be a bluff” Sam says as they walk outside.
“We can’t take that chance” Dean turns back and looks to Castiel trailing behind them “You should go back to Bobby’s and keep an eye on her”
Cass bows his head slightly and in a soft flutter of wings, disappears.

The Explicit scene that I posted in 'Short Stories'
Now, ya know where it's from!
..and that's all I got for now!
Now, ya know where it's from!
- Spoiler:
- Nicole sits quietly on her unmade bed. She could feel someone in the room with her, standing just beyond her vision. Turning her head she sees Castiel, still as a statue, staring at the wall.
“I’m surprised you’re awake” he whispers, turning to face her.
“Well, I couldn’t very well just go to sleep, could I?” she replies with a smile. “Would you like to sit, Cass?” she enquires after a moment, patting a spot on the bed next to her.
Tilting his head in a way that was so uniquely Castiel, he sits down.
“What is this” he asks, indicating to the laptop she was using.
“Oh, uh… I’m just checking my emails” she brushes some hair out of her face, before she can put her hand back down Castiel catches it in his, he lifts it close to his face to examine it briefly.
“What happened?” he asks, referring to the deep laceration that lay across Nicole’s palm.
“Uh…” Nicole looks down, embarrassed and hesitates. “Ironically: I cut myself sharpening my lucky dagger” she hates admitting it because other hunters would laugh at her. Not Castiel, though, guess he doesn’t know what’s funny about it. He just places two fingers over it, making it disappear.
“Nicole” he murmurs after a moment “I feel odd” he doesn’t know what else to say, how else to describe this new feeling, or maybe emotion, weighing him down.
Nicole on the other hand had a small idea. Placing one hand on Castiel’s shoulder Nicole leans in and presses her lip firmly to his.
He doesn’t respond at first, confused and unsure, as though he doesn’t know what to do, and maybe he doesn’t, but after a second his arms slip around her waist and his tongue skims over her lips and into her ready mouth.
Moaning slightly in happy surprise, she stretches her jaw for more room, giving him time to explore. He pulls her closer and entwines his hands in her hair. He lets his hands roam cautiously over her.
Sighing, Nicole starts to kiss his neck, showing him that there’s more to kissing than just the lips, smiling as she feels him utter his first low moan. She slides him out of his trench coat and he kicks off his shoes and socks while she pulls off his tie.
“Dammit Cass, why do you wear so much clothing?” Nicole snaps playfully when she realizes that he’s still wearing a whole damn suit.
He smiles and she smiles with him as he takes off his jacket.
She swings herself around and rolls to the other side of the bed to make herself more comfortable and in the blink of an eye Cass is laying gently on top, encasing her with his body. They resume kissing, deeply, and fervently.
Nicole tears impatiently at the buttons of Castiel’s white shirt, dragging it halfway down his arms until it gets caught, then Cass quickly helps by pulling it off the rest of the way and flinging it across the room.
Content with the half naked angel, Nicole takes off her own jacket, Cass then helps by gripping the bottom of her lacy shirt and pulling it off over her head, then letting it fall to the floor.
She clutches at Castiel’s pants, desperately trying to pull them off. Finally the belt slides free and they slid down his legs, passed his knees, landing in a heap on the floor.
Panting heavily Nicole then struggles out of her own jeans, kicking them off the bed. Cass grabs the edge of Nicole’s plain black underwear, pulling them slowly down her legs in such a way that makes them feel longer, then finally taking off his own…
He straightens up, taking a moment to examine the woman beneath him while she does the same to him. She fidgets under his gaze, the intensity of it almost burning her. It was indescribable how much emotions those eyes held, and how much it could affect her.
She reaches up and runs her hand over his chest, smiling as she fells the slight shadow of a six-pack, and loving the way that Castiel’s eyes close as he sighed. He opens them back up and his pupils a blown wide with arousal.
“Say yes, Nicole” he whispers into her ear.
“W-what?” the order didn’t make any sense to her, and the sudden pressure of a hardened cock against her inner thigh did nothing but distract.
Castiel cups Nicole’s face in one hand and kisses her, rough, and quick.
“I need you… to say… yes” their eyes meet and his meaning becomes clear. Nicole pulls Castiel into another kiss, mostly as a way to stop herself from laughing, breaking the kiss and resting her forehead against his, Nicole breathes deep.
“Yes, Castiel… The answer is yes!” Castiel’s eyes close with a sigh of relief and he pulls her into another the kiss, his tongue dancing over her lips and into her willing mouth.
Slowly he grinds his hips, making Nicole moan as his painfully hard cock rubs roughly against her clitoris, he does this a couple of times in a deliberate, teasing fashion before slowly and finally pushing in.
Nicole found it hard to believe this was only the beginning. The overwhelming pleasure from simply being entered by this being was amazing. Reaching up, she hooks her fingers onto his shoulders as she struggles to adjust to this surprisingly new sensation.
Castiel’s moves his lips cautiously to Nicole’s jugular, as she had done with him, in an attempt to relax her, and it isn’t long before she’s pushing her hips up and begging him to move.
He silences her with a kiss and experimentally pulls out and back in, in a slow and even pace. The reaction is immediate as Nicole moans loudly into Cass’ mouth he repeats the action again and again at the same unhurried speed.
Castiel feels warmth spreading slowly through his abdomen. The angel breaks away from Nicole’s lips and starts muttering incoherently between the moans and gasps, seemingly switching from English and Enochian.
“Cass!” she gasps pleasurably, wrapping her legs around him. The sound of his voice, low and rough, and just completely fucked, brings her closer and closer.
Grabbing her wrists tightly and pinning them to either side of her head Castiel finally let’s go of his control and increasingly thrusts faster and harder. The light bulb shatters and the angel’s hands glow on Nicole’s wrists his first ever orgasm hit’s him, hard.
Nicole gasps in temporary pain as she feels Castiel’s grace leak through and burn her, but it quickly fades as she, too, reaches her climax, the force of it leaves her a writhing mess.
Panting Cass collapses next to her and, after a moment pulls her closer to his side. Nicole shakily shifts herself up to place a languid kiss to Castiel, lazily their mouths and tongues move together.
..and that's all I got for now!

Re: Sweet Breath
- Spoiler:
- Castiel didn’t sleep, he didn’t need to. He simply lounged next to Nicole and watched her, something he knew many people classed as ‘creepy’ but he just couldn’t seem to look anywhere else for more than a few seconds.
His gaze strays from her fair olive complexion, following the flow of her hair over the curve of her exposed back. His attention is drawn to the hand shaped burns around her wrists, noticing with a pang of guilt that they rather resemble that of shackles. That shouldn’t have happened.
Before he can dwell too deeply he hears his name being called. Distant, as though through a long empty tunnel. He remembers he should have reported back to Sam and Dean long before now.
***
Dean sits on the hood of his car, cleaning demon blood from Ruby’s knife while Sam puts away their other effects.
“Come on Cass, where are you?” Dean grumbles, mostly to himself. Finally a soft flutter of unseen wings sounds and Castiel appears in front of him.
“Hey! Where were you?” he didn’t sound mad exactly, more curious.
“I apologize, Dean. It was somewhat difficult finding my clothes” Dean froze, he can’t possible have heard that right, but with a quick glance over at Sam and his identical reaction makes him think maybe not. “Clothes? Cass, why were you not wearing your clothes?”
Cass frowned slightly, like he was only just realizing what he’d said. He glances over at Sam who simply crosses his arms and waits for a response, then back to Dean who mimics his brother with an all-knowing look.
“I, uh” he clears his throat “I-I found occasion” he finally declares, looking a little uncomfortable.
And then there was laughter. Dean was laughing. He couldn’t help it though, it was just too cute, and the confused look Sam was giving him definitely wasn’t helping “You and Nicole? Really?”
Comprehension dawns on Sams face, and honestly, you could tee of a golf ball into that gaping gob.
“Wait! What?” it was clear Dean was struggling not to laugh “You and Nicole… Last night… No clothes???” and that was is, Dean was laughing again.
“Is there a reason you called me?” Castiel asks impatiently, clearly embarrassed. Dean lets out a long, slow breath, trying desperately to get a hold of himself “Right, sorry. Uhm, just wanted to let you know that we’ve taken care of the last of them” Castiel nods once and smiles, actually smiles.
“That’s good” he say, looking between Sam and Dean “I’ll let Nicole know, immediately” before either of them can say anything, he disappears.
Smiling, Dean turns back to the Impala and gets in.
“What’s the chance we get back and-“
“Dean!”
Sam shakes his head, and Dean just laughs some more, keying the engine and taking off.

Re: Sweet Breath
I forgot how annoying 3rd person writing is...
- Spoiler:
- Gently Castiel lowered himself back onto the bed that harbored the still sleeping form of Nicole, her chest rose and fell with a steady rhythm, and he could hear her heart beating at a slow pace, her face calm and composed.
Angelic whispers surround them as Cass carefully took her hand in his, easing her awake. When she saw the man in front of her she moved closer and wordlessly ran her free hand over his chest, wrapping her fingers around the edge of his suit jacket.
“You got dressed” she stated a little disappointed.
“I was called away” he replied. He wasn’t given the chance to say where he went or who had called him there because Nicole was suddenly kissing him sweetly, pulling lightly at him, bringing him closer.
Only when they parted for air did Castiel manage to find his voice.
“We should stop, Sam and Dean are on their way...” his voice was the same deep, emotionless rumble it always was, but his eyes, full of longing, betrayed him.
Nicole kisses him again, intensely, impatiently, pressing her whole body against his while their tongues danced together.
Teasingly she leaned away from the kiss, relishing the way that the angel greedily pulled her back.
Smiling, Nicole pushes Cass down and climbs on top, kissing fervently. She couldn’t help but feel a little guilty about what she was about to do. Breaking back from the kiss, she looked down at the man who stared lustfully back.
“You’re right” she told him solemnly, regret evident on her face. Castiel seemed confused, his brows knitted together as Nicole knew they would. “...We should stop” and with that she lifted herself up from Castiel and out of the bed so fast her head spun.
Cass was beyond confusion, his mind working furiously to figure out what just happened. Soft laughter pulled him from his thoughts. He tilted head and stared at the woman, now fully dressed, shaking her head slightly, and smiling.
She turned to grab her bag. She felt a cool rush of wind and knew that Castiel was now standing behind her. Placing the bag over her shoulder she turned to face him “You said the boys are on their way?” she asked, it was more of a rhetorical way of jogging his memory than anything else.
He nods, and Nicole turns to the door, walking out and going down the stairs. When she gets to the kitchen she found Bobby already sitting at the table, toast on a plate and coffee cup in his hand, he looks up as she enters and smiles warmly at her.
“Sleep well?” he asked, taking a sip. She nods, smiling back as Castiel steps in behind her.
“Cass? What’re you doing here, I thought you went with the boys?” he opens his mouth for a moment, before closing it, not sure how to respond, he watches Nicole put some toast on her plate and sit down, pulling the butter towards herself.
“Sam and Dean were concerned the demons may come here, they asked me to come keep and eye out.
Bobby nods, his eyes narrowed, clearly seeing that Cass was hiding something, he glance at Nicole, met only by smile, half hidden in a glass of orange juice.
“Right…”
All three of them look up as the sound of a roaring engine comes up the driveway, announcing the Winchesters return.
Taking one last bite of bread Nicole downed it with the rest of her juice as Bobby got up and walked out the door, to talk to the boys.
“You look upset” Castiel walked over as Nicole looked up from her empty glass “You’re safe now, you should be happy”
She smiles, but it doesn’t reach her eyes.
“That just means I’ll be going home. Sam and Dean’ll hit the road and you along with them”
