How to Join and Host Private Role Plays
Private role plays are RPs between two to any number of people, but instead of being posted on the forum from post to post, it is done through Email or Private Message on the forum. This allows the players to post explicit content not allowed on the forums, mostly meaning sexual content, but it can be extended to overly violent content; basically, you can do whatever the Admin allows.
So how do you play in one of these ‘Private RPs’?
It’s simple really, the Admin sets up the sign up thread in almost an identical way to setting up any other RP, they can go as far in depth as they like, like an Expert RP, or as simple as they feel, like beginner; meaning, they are permitted the use of RP Worlds and Character sheets.
So to join one of these RPs, go to the thread that’s name attracted your attention and read over the description and such. If you like it, submit your character form DO NOT INCLUDE YOUR EMAIL if you don’t want it available to all who see your post.
The Admin will post and name the people they want in the RP and PM each of them their Email, the user will then reply with their own email, and one ‘Starting’ email will be sent out to all of the people who have joined the RPs’ emails.
In this email should include the starting story, as well as the emails of all of the players. Each of the players are then responsible to set up a mailing group, and each time they ‘post’ an action, they will send it to all of the emails in the group. The players will have to keep a close eye on their email and make sure that the Actions of others’ aren’t being put into spam automatically. (If you’d like to know how to set up a mailing group go read this thread: )
You read over the other emails like you would any normal P2P (post to post) role play, write up your next action, refresh your inbox to make sure no one else has slipped their own action in during the time you wrote yours, and then send your Action to the Email Group.
When sending an RP Post through email, a good idea is to include what Number post it is in the Subject, along with the name of the RP, that way people can sort through their inbox and find the RP Emails easily.
Your title should looks something like:
When receiving Actions, a good plan to keep things organized for you personally, is to set up a folder and move the RP Actions into that folder to easily judge how far the RP has come, and keep things straight so that you don’t miss anything.
So in all, you’ll join the RP and wait for a P(rivate)M(essage) from the RP Admin telling you their email, you will then send an email to that address giving them your email address (the one you will be using for the Role Play). Then you just wait until they send out a mass email to all of the players with the list of emails, a good admin will put the name of each character that will be taking part next to the corresponding email address.
The List of Emails should looks something like this:
Now that you know how to join and play a Private RP, I’ll tell you how to host one successfully. Hosting a Private RP is a little more in depth than hosting an RP on the forum; you have to keep the emails straight, make sure everyone stays in line and doesn’t infight, set up and manage the RP, narrate and guide the RP as you would with any other, and play in it too.
So we’ll go over setting the RP up first. You’ll need the normal stuff for setting up an RP, go read this thread to see how to set up the different RP level role plays if you don’t know how to set one up by yourself.
You’ll have to figure out what level an RP you want to host before making the thread, then simply set the sign up thread up as you would any other RP of your selected difficulty.
A few key elements you might want to include as extra rules for these RPs are as follows (though you can come up with others if you need to.)
† The level of explicit content that is allowed.
‡ Meaning, how explicit the players are allowed to get, anywhere from full out Literotica, to no explicit content at all.
† How the titles of the RP Action Emails should be labeled.
‡ For instance, all of these below formats could be acceptable.
† How imaginative the players are allowed to get concerning ‘touchy’ issues and things normally considered wrong or weird.
When posting your sign up thread, you’ll also need a few extras in there, different from the usual RP Sign Ups.
For one, you’ll need to include a bracketed label telling perspective players what level your RP is on.
† [Beginner]
† [Intermediate]
† [Expert]
So your title should look something like this:
Once you pick your peeps from the field of perspective chickens, you will post in the thread, naming those who are ‘in’ should you need to refuse a sign up or two. Then PM each of the members who you’ve accepted, your PM should be titled whatever the name of the RP is, and the message content should me short and simple, as shown below.
Your ‘Starting’ email should have the following data included, the title of the message should also be considered the first Action, and labeled as such:
And there you have it! You can send this message out to your players. They’ll just set up their own mailing groups with all of the emails and start sending out their actions.
From here, it’s up to you how you handle the RP, narrating it as you normally would with a P2P RP. You can go read the Strategy Guide For Admins(COMING SOON) if you like, in there you’ll find a lot of helpful little tips concerning the management of an RP.
If you feel anything needs to be changed or added, please do not hesitate to PM me (Cross).

Grasp of the Shadow Cat
After the zombie apocalypse, a dark figure rose to power, all who were touched by its expansive reach became as mindless as the undead still roaming the world; doing the bidding of this strange power. The Shadow Cat, kills all who oppose it, drawing more and more territory into its grip. It is your job to stop it.
