Sorry I guess I didn't actually mention this. You have to be the same tribe of people and dragon; Emerald to Emerald, Ruby to Ruby, Topaz to Topaz, etc.
Sorry I thought that would be obvious but not even I get my own mind and ideas sometimes.

Besides that, good character. And yes, start with a short bow; Emeralds are hunters by nature.
