Warhammer 40K

I just want to know. Does anyone:

[1] Know what Warhammer 40K is?
[2] Play it?
[3] Understand the universe behind the game?

I'm just wondering because I want to get back into model tabletop gaming (warhammer) and have made my own chapter, just need the money to buy the Codex and actually make my model army.
I'm also interested to see if I make a Warhammer 40K roleplay would anyone like to join, and would anyone understand it or do I need to explain stuff?

I've heard of it, but not what it is... its a strategy game, right?

It's got allot of genres. It's a model top gaming, where you get dice, rulers and all that and go fight your friends and strangers. It's also got several strategy 'build bases' games, a shooter game, a few boad games and a few Dungeons & Dragons roleplay games. That's all I know really
