Favorite Superhero and Villain?
Wasn't sure whether to put this in General, Games, or TV/Movies, but decided on TV/Movies since a lot, if not most, superheroes have had their time on the screen by now.
So who's your favorite hero and villain? They don't have to be from the same universe, they don't even have to be from the same franchise. And why are they your favorites?

Re: Favorite Superhero and Villain?
I think it fits here, as most folk associate them with the big budget blockbusters nowadays.
For a hero, I've always been a spiderman guy. Its more from the 90's cartoon and comics rather than the movies that got me to like him. I just don't feel any of the films that I've seen have actually managed to capture him as he is in the comics. Close second is Daredevil... f***ing loved Charlie Cox's portrayal of him, though stick really got on my tits in the series.
Villian, I don't know, theres alot of great villians. I like the more complex ones, that make the heroes question their motives, so Kingpin is probably way up there.

Everyone knows my favorite hero is Captain America if they read over the gen chat thread a week or so ago. Mostly like him because of his altruistic virtues and devotion (Both to his country and to his friends and allies.) Spiderman would be a close second on there, tying there with Deadpool. Only reason spiderman would win out is because Deadpool doesn't have near the story or depth Spiderman does (Plus, Spiderman is almost equal to Deadpool when it comes to sarcasm/quips, though not of such a blatantly mature rating. This being one of Spiderman's key aspects they left out in every movie so far. The dude was basically Marvel's comic relief before Deadpool.) After that I'd probably go with Hawkeye then Iron Man (because bow.)
Overall, I much prefer Marvel's heroes to DC's. DC has classic heroes, but none I really give a sh*t about. Marvel did an excellent job setting them up without the need to rely on a bunch of backstory people would need to know prior to seeing the movies. While DC was like, look, heroes, they do stuff, yaknow, because you're a nerd who's read ALL the comics! And then people who dislike graphic novels are left sitting here like wat...?
The inverse is true when it comes to villains, though. I like the DC villains much more than the Marvel ones. Maybe it's because DC has overpowered it's superheroes to the points of gods that their villains also have to be total badasses to stand a chance.
My favorite villain of all time is Slade Wilson. Or Deathstroke, if you use his alias. Badass merc character who wears a two toned mask with one eye because his ex-wife shot his other one out because she blamed him for endangering their kids (One of whom had his throat cut or something so he couldn't speak anymore.)
He showed up in the Teen Titans anime on Cartoon Network way back whenever all that was going on and I just thought he was the best villain ever. He's smart, calculating, super strong, fast as f***, manipulative, and has advanced healing abilities. Basically everything I'd want to be if I were a villain. After his first appearance I did a bunch of research on him and found out that Teen Titans wasn't a new concept and pretty well everything in the show had already been mapped out in comics. First time I ever willingly sought out comic books was to see more Slade.
I guess my second favorite would be Doomsday. Because who doesn't like a half-kryptonian half-human hybrid indestructible creature that has the ability to absorb power, multiply it, and then shoot it back?

I'd like to add on to Deathstroke is that he's also Australian, and that he's an excellent Antagonist in Arrow (Also played by an Australian-New Zealander. That's a big deal to me because I don't see allot of Aussie's or Kiwis in superhero related media besides Hugh Jackman)
I'm not sure on a hero at the moment, but my all time favourite villain would have to be the Joker. He's the epidemy of insanity and chaos, he does things because he can and because he wants to, and nothing holds him back. I think the main reasons I love those qualities is because life, more often than not, is the exact opposite of that. I always enjoy characters act in a chaotic alignment more than anything.
Also a few years ago my friend told me I had the perfect face structure to pull off a Jack Nicholson Joker smile, and after the troubling year with an ex-friend and ex-girlfriend, I developed what I call the Joker laugh, and dressed t as a Heath Ledger Joker for my 21st with the scars and everything.

Re: Favorite Superhero and Villain?
Superman has always been my favorite superhero. He's just like the super-est hero.
I used to watch Batman and Superman cartoons when I was little. I loved Superman, but didn't like Batman. However, I did like nearly everyone else in Batman (Robin, Gordon, the villains, etc).
I tried watching old Marvel shows like X-Men and Spiderman, and I didn't like them. The first Toby McGuire Spiderman movie was cool, but the others were not. I never liked the X-Men movies.
Fast forward to the current Marvel movies, and I can't stand those. I just hate the humor. The first Iron Man is an exception though. It was fantastic.
My favorite villain is probably either the Joker or Harley Quinn. They're the most entertaining villains around. Although, the Penguin from Gotham (the show) is pretty awesome.
I never liked any of the Superman villains, and the Marvel ones are very forgettable (I only remember some of Spiderman's). I do remember like all of Batman's though. They're just more memorable than anyone else's.
Disclaimer: I don't read comics, just watch movies and shows. So I don't know who all of the people you're talking about are. Lol

My favourite villain is either Ben Kingsley in Sexy Beast, or Nurse Ratchett in OFOtCN. It's not comics or 'superheroes', but i f***ing hate the money-leeching gimp suit franchise these days anyway. Iron Man was the only Marvel film i liked.
If I were to pick a hero, it would either be Jack Sparrow or Ace Ventura.
