The Hidden World: St Louis
Story
Forty-one years after the founding of the Roman empire its capital was almost destroyed by an army of demons. Following this attack, the non-human races of the world came together and divided through magic the Earth between the human and supernatural, forcing the non-humans into the shadows and hidden places of the world. An order was created to protect and maintain this division as well to protect the human world from supernatural dangers. Over the centuries, this order has come to control and rule the Hidden World as its government, but it has become corrupt and bloated, its rulers and politicians working in their own interests while the common people suffer under increasing dominating and tyrannical rule. There are some within the order that still advocate for a fairer system, but some have started rebelling and rising against the order, fracturing the Hidden World. Worse still these fractures are starting to show through the barrier; the Hidden World is crumbling.
A particular rebel, Vlad Dracul the impaler, once Prince of Wallachia and later Jack the Ripper of Whitechapel, has risen against the Tutores Latet and claimed most of the Australian continent, the bureaucratic seat of power for the order. While the Australian war wages Vlad's forces are spreading through the world aiming to take it for their master. As well other factions and warlords are testing the waters and breaking away from to order to claim power for themselves.
In the shadows of the American city St Louis Vlad's forces are small, but growing in power while three other factions and the Tutores in the city all vying for power and control.

Key People of the City
- Centurion Shawn L. Davis - A Nephilim and head of the Tutores in the city. He has taken over from the Governor of the city, and while it is a 'dictatorial' position he still tries to retain a fair and democratic government in the city.
- Toni J. Flowers - A vampire and lieutenant of Vlad acting as his representative in St Louis. She is charismatic, cold and manipulative, and does not tolerate failure or resistance. She wants to install a dictatorial government of the city.
- Ivan - A vampire who runs the nightclub Eternal Thirst enchanted so that anyone who instigates or acts violent or aggressive is struck with severe pain till they pass out, then are removed from the club. Ivan is neutral in all conflicts, and there is a rumour is that he was once the Censor (Government General) for the Tutores Spy Network. Now he runs his nightclub and acts as an information broker who is paid in secrets and information.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Ivan is the youngest of the Seven Ancient Vampires but it is not a key aspect of the roleplay, and should not be used or brought up. He speaks with a Russian accent, has orange hair and jade green eyes. - The gang Leaders - Feel free to make one up. More creative and input from players then.

Isabella 'Ella' Stephens.
- Lord Tomyh:
- Gender: Female.
Age: 19.
Race: Warlock.
Apparel: Ella wears a white long sleeve shirt over a pair of cargo pants, a nice pair of stolen Adidas runners, a white jacket, and a black woolen long coat. All of her clothes are worn with tears, some open and some repaired. She also wears an iron bracelet with the eight symbols of the vegvisir and a ninth runed skull as pendants, all made from different materials. If this bracelet is stolen or removed it will always return to Ella, but if it is taken off by her or given to someone it will stay there unless called.
Physical Appearance: Ella is short and thin with pale skin, long black hair tied up in a ponytail. She has dull violet eyes that glow brightly when she uses her magic and has several scars across her body, the largest of which starts at her collar bone and snakes around her back to just above the waist.
Personality: Outwardly she puts on a Harley Quinn like persona: she is friendly, cheerful and eccentrically energetic, often acting on impulse or a whim. she doesn't care for rules or laws and will break them if they get in her way, and she laughs almost hysterically at anything. Under this act, however, Ella is more reserved and respectful, hard to trust or get close to people but respectful of their boundaries and their choices or beliefs.
Bio: Born to a rich family that dates back to the Roman times Ella is the only survivor after her home was invaded and her parents, siblings and grandparents were all murdered; Ella only survived by hiding in the rubbish bins, and the attackers were never identified or found. After this, she received her bracelet, her family's artifact, and was put in the foster care system, bouncing from home to home due to her reEllaious destructive nature. At 18 she ran away to St Louis where she has lived by herself on the streets and has been jailed several times.
Marcus Grott
- Damxge:
- Gender: Male
Age: Twenty-five
Race: Human-Warlock
Apparel: Marcus wears blue jeans, brown work boots, t-shirts with sarcastic phrases on them, and usually a short sleeved blue floral dress shirt over top of his t-shirt. He also wears a plain black baseball cap. Besides this, he wears a necklace with multiple pendants on it and a belt with metal symbols and such attacked to it.
Physical Appearance: Marcus clocks in at six feet tall and one hundred-sixty pounds. He has short blonde hair that he spikes a bit in the front as well as a well trimmed beard that covers his jaw, chin, and lip. He has dark gray eyes and a crook nose with thin lips and a strong jawline. He has a slightly larger than average chin. His body is athletic, but not muscular, with long arms and legs and smallish hands. Because of his nerves, he bites his nails to stubs and has a tendency to grind his off-white teeth as well as chew on his lip.
On his arms, chest, and back, he bares the tattoos of a warlock. All solid black and interwoven, forming symbols and swirls that assist with his magic. For the most part, he tries to conceal their magical nature by adding non-magic tattoos, such as his family crest, a reaper, the words "From death comes power", and old world symbols of luck.
Personality: Marcus is a cocky fellow, completely confident in his own powers and abilities. He's also paranoid, though, which explains why many of his magic tattoos and the pendants he wears are protective in nature. Despite his attitude, he's extremely devoted and intelligent, looking always to improve himself and learn from others.
Bio: Marcus was kidnapped at birth, from the hospital he was born at, by the nurse who was supposed to be taking care of him while he was there. This nurse was a vile woman, a witch, who sought to raise Marcus and sacrifice him to gain immortality and beauty. It was unfortunate for her that when she summoned the demon to take the young child, that the demon would be disgusted by her vile actions and struck her down on the spot with a flash of hellfire. This demon, Marau Grott, took Marcus and named him after her own deceased child. She hid him in the midwest of the united states and raised him, imbuing him with her own blood once he reached the age of ten, changing him from human to warlock. She taught him of the magics in the world, both dark and light, raising him to be open to all of the world, not just the accepted world. By the time Marcus reached eighteen, he'd already surpassed many formally trained warlocks hundreds of years in age and had been accepted into the Tutores Latet as a bodyguard. While the Tutores pressed him for information on where he'd gained all of his knowledge, he continued to claim he was simply a prodigy.
To this day, he is still working as a bodyguard for the Tutores. Currently he is undercover, living with and guarding an informant planted in the local uprising in support of Vlad. This informant, Asha Edison, is a succubus demon who was raised amidst the Tutores Latet and is a close personal friend of Marcus. It is here that he starts his story.

Typo's. Ugh. Thank you for pointing that out.
Though an anthropomorphic Vlad the Impala is a funny, yet disturbing, thought.

Re: The Hidden World: St Louis
Anyway, I don't think I'll take part in this RP, due to all the emphasis on characters, lore and restrictions. Might be better to put it in the Strict section, Dyl.
Regardless, check out the Development section, that might be a good idea for another HW RP.

Re: The Hidden World: St Louis
So Ella's train, Albert, is a Class A-1 Berkshire 2-8-4 steam locomotive with a cowcatcher similar to the Jupiter Locomotive, painted all black with the number 931, but no words on it. It's based on the train from the Polar Express movie.
And yes, I did drop a steam train on people.
And yes, I did drop a steam train on people.
Hidden World Lore
So I'm adding in lore information for the Hidden World. Things that everyone would or should know. If you want to add to the lore please do. But as it is my world I will approve or decline it. I'm a pretty open person, or at least I try to be, so please don't be discouraged. Please, this is a world and a roleplay for everyone.
So today's lore post is on the Vegvisir staffs. There will be notes below explaining some things out or lore.
The Hidden World is full of thousands power and ancient artifacts, many of them dangerous. When warlocks were first taught the fundamentals of magic by their demonic ancestors they created the eight schools of magic: Abjuration, Conjuration, Divination, Necromancy, Enchantment, Transmutation, Evocation, Illusion. Although many warlocks and spellcasters used universal magic, many only practiced one or two if the schools; one warlock never used all eight of the schools.
In 540 BCE a group of dark warlocks unleashed a series of magical disasters using the powers of the schools to rampage through the Neo-Babylonian empire, leading to its downfall and conquering. This event scarred the world physically and magically, damaging the ley lines and bringing the planet close to complete global disaster. After this, a group of nine warlocks, both light and dark, came together to try and prevent another such event, and to ensure that no one can misuse the powers of the schools and magic in general.
The group decided after months of negotiation that a guardian or mediator was needed to oversee the use of magic and the safety of the world from magical use. To aid this being nine staffs of power were created, eight to control the schools of magic and one to only be used in the absolute direst of needs. From the nine the first Guardian was chosen, and a powerful enchantment made on both he and the staffs, over binding his soul to them. This ensured that whoever shall take up the staffs after his death would have access to his wisdom and council and that every wielder would ultimately tie their souls to the staffs, increasing the pools of power and wisdom available to the Guardians.
The Guardian, also known at the time as the Master of the Staves, fulfilled a role similar to the one the Tutores Latet would adopt centuries later: the protection of the world and it's peoples from outside forces, the planet itself, and themselves.
After a full life, the Guardian named his daughter as his heir of inheritance, and upon his death passed the staffs onto her. The daughter continued her father’s work, until her death, and the staffs continued onto the next wielder, and the next, for centuries down the bloodline of the First Guardian. His descendant and current Guardian was present for the formation of the Tutores Latet, pledging their support and the support of their heirs for the order and bequeathed them a cache of magical artifacts, tomes, scrolls and knowledge to use and safeguard.
During the fall of the Wester Roman Empire, the Guardian was struck down without an heir, and their killer took the staffs for their own. The new Guardian was selfish, using the staff's power to strike down his enemies and carve power for himself in the Hidden World, and in time he too was struck down and the staffs were taken. or the next few centuries the staffs would pass through many hands, all mortal, some selfless working for the protecting of the world, and others selfish, only working for themselves. The staffs almost came into the possessing of the Ancient One Vampire but managed to elude him.
Finally, the staffs ended in the hands of a worthy Guardian, one who managed to win the trust and respect of the Archangel Raphael. The Guardian, once a Viking from the Human world, named the staffs the Vegvisir after the sigil of protection used in his people, and this became the name of the staffs to all, even to this day. For centuries again the staffs passed down the bloodline of the Vegvisir Guardian, protecting the world from any and all threats, some wielders working with the Tutores and some against. With each generation, each wielder the staffs grew in power, and the wealth of souls with all their wisdom bound to the artifacts increasing.
The staffs again changed hands in 1842, but any record of the wielder or their heirs after that have been destroyed or hidden by the Tutores and the Ancient One Vampire in order to protect the Guardian. With the threat of people and monsters hunting for the staffs, for reasons of personal gain, the Guardian moved to working in the shadows of the Hidden World, saving the people from behind the scenes or hidden in the middle of events and disasters. Many say that the Ancient One was targeted by demons and assassins for this information, with ultimately resulted in the death of him and his wife and daughter aboard the Titanic.
As the staffs have been present and even forefront in much of the Hidden Worlds history much is known about the first eight of the Vegvisir, the names of the eight staffs and powers being words of awe and fear in the magical community and even outside. Tutella of Abjuration, Arcesso of Conjuration, Preasention of Divination, Corroboro of Enchantment, Pario of Evocation, Abscondo or Illusion, Transverto of Transmutation and Reijico of Necromancy.
The ninth staff, the final staff is not well-documented, if at all. There is no account of its appearance or powers, only its name, and title, and a mantra: Iactura, the final staff.
I Silence.
Although unconfirmed, many believe that the journal entry of a Tutores Captain telling the events of a battle of Godly proportions that caused the Jiajing Great Earthquake of 1556 to possibly be the only known use of Iactura.
The journal entry talks of an incursion of the Demon Princes of Hell Berith the Wrathful into the world and his attempt to open a gate into hell and unleash the armies of the Pit. an army of the 2,000 Tutores was sent to stop him but was easily defeated and destroyed, leaving only a dozen alive as witnesses. The survivors, in despair, could only watch in awe and fear at what was to unfold.
A woman approached the Demon Prince, alone, and challenged the mighty being to fight. Bethil laughed and set a fire to the area around the woman. What happened next the captain did not understand, but the sky split open, lightning lacing the sky without clouds, the ground cracked as if cleaved, the very winds around them caught fire, and gravity in places inverted, falling towards the sky.
Then the battle began. The captain only described it as the end of the world. He was the only being to walk away. He wrote afterwards that at the battle's end, when the world returned to normal, that Bethil, tired and on his knee's, was obliterated by a wave of the woman's hand, his very essence burnt, before her body turned to stone and crumbling to dust, the object she was holding, a staff distorted by light, vanished.
Many have theorized and argued over this journal entry even to this day, even the Wise One Vampire attempting to prove this was the final staff, but none have managed to prove or disprove it. All that is known is a warning from a demon trapped in Bethil's Gate of Hell.
"It carries the power to raise mortals to the thrones of Gods and spit on the faces of Angels. It is the ultimate power, in all its glory. None can face it and hope to live. Despair all, for it is the death of everything."

And that should be it for notes. I hope you enjoy the item history and the lore. I'm gonna make more. Also, Rome is gonna be written solely as a story by me describing how the Tutores was founded. Maybe. Still 50/50. Might make it open, might not. We'll see.

NOTES
- First of all. Ella has these staffs. Yes they are powerful, and so is she, but only when she has one summoned. Besides that she is piss-weak in magic, barely able to hold most spells, and summoning and using a staff will tire her out once she dismisses one. Also, she can only hold a staff for 20 minutes. After that, it goes away, and she is an easy target.
- Please help me keep her not overpowered. Strong, sure, just not Roman. I don't want that again (Yes I know, don't giver her ultimate staffs next time. Well poor mana, poor magical training and a target on your back should discourage her from using them)
- Every warlock (that has knowledge about the Hidden World) would know about these staffs, and any news that one has been seen would be like wildfire.
- The bracelet has a faint trace of magic and is recognizable, but there are dozens of replica's, so she wouldn;t be noticed and immediately recognized for it.
- Demons are terrified of these things, Angels are wary.
- Dismiss the last staff for now. I'm not going to use it. Not in this roleplay anyway.
And that should be it for notes. I hope you enjoy the item history and the lore. I'm gonna make more. Also, Rome is gonna be written solely as a story by me describing how the Tutores was founded. Maybe. Still 50/50. Might make it open, might not. We'll see.
Re: The Hidden World: St Louis
Remind me to do this everytime I even think, accidental or not, about making my HW characters powerful, let alone overpowered.
Re: The Hidden World: St Louis
I wrote up a post, then went to erase a few characters at the end and forgot I'd clicked out of the window, so it went BACK in the browser and I lost my sh*t. So I'll try to rewrite it later, sorry for the delay.

[A random conversation between two Tutores members]
“Did ya hear? They got a media report from Australia.”
“Shot, how bad is it?”
“It’s f***ed up man. The Tutores is confined to that island at the bottom. Forgot what it’s called.”
“New Zealand?”
“There’s fighting in all the cities, except on the island. The humans have no f***ing clue and are trying to fight back.”
“What about the capital, Melbourne?” Isn’t that where it started?”
“Yeah, that’s where Vlad is. But according to the reporter he holds a third of the city.”
“Wait, we're kicking his ass?”
“The Tutores are dead in the city, barely a garrison anymore.”
“sh*t man.”
“It’s a vigilante militia group calling themselves the Ancient Ones Army.”
“As in the vampire? The guy who died in 1912?”
“Yeah man.”
“Why?”
“Before the whole sh*t started there was this guy running around dressed like the Ancient One, you know the British gentleman get up from the Victorians. So he’s going around like f***ing Batman, taking down criminals and Vlad’s guys before the war started. So when the sh*t hits the fan this chick joins him, same getup, and the two start fighting an army.”
“Bullshit.”
“I’m not kidding. These two are fighting off Vlads guys as the Melbourne Tutores crumbled, and an army built up around them.
“sh*t man.”
“I know.”
“How the hell did one reporter know all this? I thought you said he was a vigilante.”
“I said he was Batman. I don’t know man, she asked them?”
