So, I was just thinking: Does anyone else think that this game is lacking in what we expected? I mean Notch was planning to add Dwarf Fortress type things to it...but he didn't. Thoughts?

i do agree. but i when i bought it, over a year ago, i had no expectations. i just wanted to survive, gather resources, and build. it was simple. now, this stupid hunger bar ruins everything by forcing you to farm or hunt to maintain a constant supply of food. it sucks up quite a bit of time when starting a new world.

i remember when notch said he was going to add lanterns way back when. of course, i didn't happen.
then came the NPC's that you were supposed to be able to interact with. what we got were pointless creatures that just stood around, making no noise in villages located in deserts 90% of the time.

all he's done in the past several updates is make a dragon and give minecraft's development to jeb so that he can go work on scrolls.


when the full release came out, i was rather disappointed. you'd expect him to add something big for the full release or something, but nope. there were hardly any differences between 1.0 and the beta last update before it.

I simply don't care what he adds or what he doesn't ... as long as I get to build, both creative and survival and when I get bored blow up some poor animal/village/random rock

Yea, it should have been something really big. Not just the end of the game ( 'Cause it kinda sucks and is basically impossible to do not on creative...)

Yea, its still fun and all, but I would very much enjoy some better Testificates (Yogscast's name for the Villagers)

the thing that disappoints me the most would be the villagers.

i wish they added more types of dungeons. some sort of ruins would be great.
i'd like something harder to get through or something that just looks better than a giant cube room. mineshafts aren't hard to clear at all and aren't exactly aesthetically pleasing.

Yea! I have found a mine shaft and its just terrible looking...

Another thing I would like is Ultra-Hardcore mode where mobs could break through blocks at night. Because that would be truly exciting.

And I really think they could have done a better job on the nether ruins...they're just netherbrick cubes sticking out of the walls XD
Also, what are those little flame guys who so frequently try to and succeed at, killing me in the nether?

the end really only is just the place for the final boss. there's no other point to it, but i think that's pretty understandable. it's just a place for fighting, and that's all it needs to be.

i dislike how overpowered the enderdragon is. it's extremely difficult to hit, requires a few stacks of arrows, and can regenerate health at the magical obsidian pillars.

I haven't been to the end yet, or neather ruins or whatever. Never fought or seen a blaze or even a normal stronghold.

yea its pretty annoying. The real strength in minecraft is the modding commuinity.

So, not sure if anyone else does, but I still have the AP World map file that Chavvy made as well as the collaborative AP world map file that we all contributed to.

If anyone wants them let me know, and I'll try re-learn how to send them.

sending them is easy, just find your world saves file (easiest way is to backdoor via the resource pack selection, and just back up a little till you find your world saves. then you make a compressed version, and move it somewhere accessible.) then you just upload it somewhere like mediafire and post a link

I'm probably gonna look into playing minecraft again. though having something to aim for would make it better for me.

I honestly haven't played much lately. Dinda got bored of it and I've been working nonstop the last few weeks. Might get back into it here soon. If anyone would like, I'm looking into getting MCMMO and setting up a server.

@Casey - MCMMO is a popular plugin that adds a skill system to minecraft, it helps make progression slower, and in turn, makes it so you have to work to survive rather than just just straight down and strip mine diamonds within the first ten minutes.

And it gives a lot more purpose to the game since you're working on developing your levels and skill as well as building/surviving.
