Self employed plasterer/joiner. The problem is keep getting undercut when pricing, yet I cannot drop my prices anymore than I already have otherwise I'd be working for nothing. Im not even meeting minimum wage atm.

Well idk about over there, but here spraying will get you about $60 an hour.

Not sure about over in the UK, but a livable wage in the US is considered to be between $25k and $30k a year. There's a difference between livable and comfortable though. Anything over 45k is usually considered comfortable, even though it's still not a lot of money.

Having checked, around £15k/17k is classed as a full "living wage", though it depends where you live. Like the difference in price on things between here and my girlfriends flat is ridiculous, and its only 9 miles away.

You guys' cost of living is considerably less than the US as well, is it not? I know for a fact that utilities like phone, tv, internet, elect., and water are all much cheaper.

Some things are cheaper, but others alot more expensive, rent is skyrocketing atm, and the cost of running a car is getting silly too.

I think our housing is staying about even, but gas (petrol) prices are just so unpredictable. They go down to 1.50 for a week then rocket up to 3.20.
