Re: All Static [RP-Thread - Open]
This was going to be hard. We'd reached the 'hill' in the first few hours of hiking, but it was all uphill from there. I laughed a bit at the joke in my head, drawing a glance from Sarah. I could feel the vibrations of everything around us, and my head was killing me; birds, turtles, even bugs I could feel, but I couldn't locate them, I could just tell how far away they were and in what general direction. I'd been working on focusing, but it just hurt my head more. What's more, I had begun bleeding from my ears spontaneously.
This was going to be a long journey.
[I suggest we speed it up to when we get to the ranger station, afterall, we're in the middle of nowhere and very little story impacting crap can happen. Wait for killer to post before we skip ahead.]

(ok i will finish this wolve and then we will skip with me entering the station really beat up and fainting)
i moved quick as i could behind some bushes trying to get a clean shot when the wolf came, i layied down and waited 'hear he comes.' i could hear the wolf running its step sounded heavyer the it was before i stoped next to the bike and sniffed 'its bigger,sh*t sh*t sh*t' i turned to look at me as i fired in between the eyes it stood for a moment longer then fell. i got up and walked to it to cheak if its dead i nuged it with my boot "ok its dead" i turned to continue walking as i did i heard movement i wiped back around to see the wolf about to get back up "NO YOU DONT" i screamed and fired a two more rounds into its head before it hit the ground "ok its dead now but it took three bullets to die" 'i better get moveing' i turned again and started to walk around the mountain.'

Re: All Static [RP-Thread - Open]
At last we got a glimpse of the station. We were perched on a ridge on the Side of the mountain. It stood, windows dark, door open and even though there was a lot of distance between us and it, I could hear it.
A shuffling sound, groaning and the dreaded ripping and tearing.

It was far away, perched atop a tall hill, though not near as tall as the cliff on which we now stood. It'd be a long trip down, and my ankle had swollen badly. I could feel something in that direction, definitely changed, but these were different from any I'd felt before. They moved slowly, like zombies from movies, unlike the changed we'd seen so far which were fast and strong. This was going to be bad.
We made it within a stone's throw of the cabin by nightfall on our fourth day on the trail, my leg slowing us greatly. I worried that TK wasn't going to make it, there were alot of wolves after him.
"Be on your guard, there's something wrong here," I whispered, drawing my pistol and glancing around at the others, all with assorted weaponry.
"They're not moving," Jake said softly, how he knew I had no idea, but it appeared he'd inherited some new ability as Sarah, TK, Franc, and I had.
"That's because they're waiting," I said, "They know we're here,"
These were dangerous creatures, something evolved about them made me fear them even more. They were waiting for us, I could feel it, they knew we were out here, but were too slow to come charging after us, they were intelligent, and hungry.

We moved slowly toward the hut, weapons at the ready, Sarah sniffing at the air as she went. The wind was blowing away from us, so it was doubtful she would smell anything. I could feel it however, five its.
As we came to the door, I could feel them right on the other side, the rapidness of their vibrations intensifying as we neared, but not because I was getting closer, but because they were getting excited. We needed this house, we needed the supplies and the shelter, and the radio that was hopefully still there.
"One of us has to stay back," I said softly as we huddled around the doorway.
"We need all the help we can get in there!" Sarah objected, glancing around.
"One of us has to stay back to meet with TK, at least them two of us would make it if something went wrong," I said, pointing at Jake, "Jake, would you mind climbing a tree and waiting until we clear the house?"
He nodded without hesitation, probably glad he didn't have to go in. Sarah was obviously put out, but nodded in agreement, she knew there was something inside.
There was a crash as Franc smashed the door in, staggering out of the way as Sarah dashed through, guided by smell in the still darkness. She was on the first Changed within seconds, impaling its face on the end of her hunting knife. I fired off two rounds, into the dark, both landing on a massive greyish creature as it lumbered toward me. These were big, almost seven feet tall, their skin a bluish grey, their skin seemingly melted and oozing off of their bones. Sarah's was on the ground, still; mine was still trying to crawl at me, but it was obviously not going to make it.
"Three more, downstairs," I whispered, moving along the wall, trying to find a lightswitch.
Unfortunately, when I found it, it didn't work. I almost slapped myself, moron.
"We can barricade the basement door, and go down in the morning when its-" I started, but there was a deafening crash, drowning me out and throwing me to the floor. I could see light, and motion as glass rained down around me, splinters of wood and an odd red in the mix. I hit the floor in slow motion, the explosion barely audible over the pounding in my ears. Then slowly, as I settled on the floor, everything went black.
Arniel Galvor
There was screaming from the ranger station as my shot landed, the shadowy outline in the window vanishing in a burst of class and wood as the bullet grazed the frame. I cocked the gun for another shot, but something caught my ankle and pulled me from my perch in the tree. I went to yell, but a large hand covered my mouth, I hit the ground and was staring up into the bloodshot eyes of another human being, a hatchet in his free hand, ready to slash my head off, a gun tucked into his belt.

Re: All Static [RP-Thread - Open]
"Get off me!" I growled, watching his gears turning as he decided what to do.
"The hell were you doing?" He hissed, glancing up in the direction of the ranger station.
"I was killing these damned creatures!" I said, a little too loudly and he smacked me in the head with the handle of his hatchet, which I noticed was coated in blood.
"Alright, then who are you?" He asked, calming down a little, I think.
"I'm Arniel, I'm a ranger!" I said, gesturing at the badge pinned to the my dirty green uniform, my green cowboy hat laying a ways off from the sudden jerk of being pulled from the tree.
"And you're not, one of," He said slowly, moving his hands away from me, lowering his hatchet.
"No! Do I look like I'm trying to bite your face off?" I said, receiving another smack to the head by the larger man, probably in his late teens, early twenties, but still bigger than me at twenty five, "I was driving out here to take my four month shift and relieve the others, but halfway out in the middle of nowhere, this screech dropped, ruined my truck," I said as he lugged himself off of me.
"Then how'd you end up here?" He asked, wiping his hatchet off, the blood was fresh, though I couldn't tell if it was human or animal.
"I walked, for the last week, I figured if I got to the station, I'd be able to radio what I'd seen and heard. But when I got here, the rangers on post, they were different, bigger. They attacked me when I came up to the door, but they were slow and I got away. I just popped one of them off when you pulled me out of the damn tree," I rolled upright, grabbing my hat and jamming it over my long blonde hair, which was now tangled with leaves and twigs. I stood up slowly, making sure he wasn't going to hit me again. I stood a good six inches shorter than him at 5' 9'', my uniform dirty and tattered from my days out in the wilderness.
I went to pick up my rifle when the man stopped me, swinging his hatchet in front of my face, "You think I'm going to shoot you?" I asked, turning to face him.
"No, I think there's something wrong here," He said, picking the rifle up from the dirt, a scope-less carbine, "This doesn't have a scope, and the ranger hut is over half a mile away," He turned to me, looking more curious than anything, "You say you hit one of the changed at the lodge, how'd you even see one through all those trees and over that distance?"
I swallowed hard, my vision blurring as my blood began to pump harder, making me lose control of the strange, hawk vision I'd developed after the screeching noise.

"Its dirty from travel," I murmured, following along after him. We made good time, getting down to the shack in fifteen minutes along a worn deer trail.
"Did they already get here?" He asked, walking slowly toward the door, his pistol in hand. I had my rifle at the ready as well.
"Who?" I asked, glancing behind us.
"My friends, we were supposed to meet here," He replied, moving quietly up to the door.
"You sweep right, I'll sweep left," He said softly before swinging around and kicking the door in. He moved swiftly through the doorway to the left, I moved to the right, aiming at the people in the room, the changed were already dead, though. On the floor lay a dark haired boy, probably not old enough to buy a drink at a bar, blood was oozing slowly out of a wound on his chest, one of the occupants of the shack, a girl, was trying to resuscitate him, the others standing back, their eyes wide in panic. Slowly, the realization swept over me, I'd shot him.
"TK! Is that you?!" One of the people yelled, brandishing a knife at me.
"What happened to Tony?!" TK Yelled, thumping down next to the body.
